Full day • Pisaq, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo • Buffet lunch included
8:00 am - Pick-up from your hotel and departure to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking the route through Cristo Blanco. During the journey, the Urubamba River will accompany us, along with different mountains and unique landscapes of this valley, where the tall mountains rising up to the clouds stand out.
First stop: Taray viewpoint, a spot from where we can appreciate the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our guide will explain where the name sacred valley comes from, the different products grown in the valley, and the customs of the local people.
We continue to the Pisaq Archaeological Park (3,300 masl). Visiting time: 1 hour and 15 minutes. This beautiful park is an urban sector with different human settlements or neighborhoods. The construction of Pisaq was carried out during the rule of Pachacuteq in the 15th century. With the arrival of the Spanish, Pisaq was invaded, the locals fled to the higher areas, the monuments were destroyed, and the Inca cemetery was looted because the Incas buried their dead with different gold objects.
Afterward, we will visit the town of Pisaq, where we will learn about the goldsmith workshops, since the people of Pisaq stand out in metal alloying. In the workshops, they will explain the artisanal metalwork process.
After this visit, we will take our transportation to the province of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
About an hour later, we will head to the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park. Our guide will tell you a very beautiful story entitled: "The Drama of Ollantay", a story that was passed down through time from generation to generation.
6:00 - 7:00 pm - Return to the city of Cusco.
