Half day • Maras, Moray and textile tradition in Chinchero
8:00 am - Pick up from your hotel and departure north of the city.
First stop: Chinchero Archaeological Park (3,750 masl). Town famous for its textiles.
We will visit the famous Aguana Canchas, places where our Chincherina women will demonstrate alpaca wool spinning, dyeing and weaving in an artisanal and natural way, using minerals, plants, roots and insects for color shades.
Our Chincherina women will dress you in typical local costumes. We will drink muña or coca tea to combat altitude sickness and take beautiful souvenir photos with the alpacas and llamas they raise at these Aguana Canchas.
Continue to the Maras salt mines (3,000 masl). Our guide will explain the salt production process by the people of Maras and show you the salty water spring that flows all year round with a constant volume.
Last attraction: Moray, known as the Inca agricultural laboratory. We will appreciate the different terraces arranged in circular shapes resembling a small theater. Each terrace has a different climate type. Our guide will explain how it worked in Inca times.
2:00 pm - Return to the city of Cusco.
