1 day • The seven-color mountain in the Cusco Andes
5:00 am - Hotel pick-up and departure south of the city of Cusco.
The journey lasts one hour and thirty minutes to Cusipata, where we will have our buffet breakfast (half an hour to enjoy our food). During this stretch, we can appreciate the sunrise along the Vilcanota River, which passes through Machupicchu and takes the name Urubamba River.
We continue our journey to the starting point of the hike for 1 hour and 15 minutes. On this stretch, we will appreciate the change in climate, the change in flora, the white and gray clouds that seem to crash into the beautiful mountains, mountains that from above begin with rocks and gradually become immense grasslands where two of the South American camelids domesticated by the Incas enjoy the Ichu: the llama and the alpaca.
Start of hike: 15,090 ft. Our guide will give recommendations before, during, and after the journey.
The hike lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes at a firm and steady pace. We will ascend to 16,520 ft, so we will need a lot of strength for the last stretch which is 15 minutes.
Once at the pass, we will enjoy the immense valleys, the red valley, the highest snow-capped mountain in Cusco: Ausangate (20,940 ft) and of course the Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca.
We begin the descent, much easier and simpler.
Our transport will take us to the restaurant to enjoy our delicious buffet lunch.
5:00 pm - Return to the city of Cusco.
End of tour.
